Day 1

Thursday, February 16, 2012.

Fly from JFK to Santiago, Chile

Arrive Santiago on the morning of February 17.

Day 2

Friday, February 17, 2012.

Fly from Santiago to Concepcion

Stay at Pingueral.  Bungalows.

Day 3

Saturday, February 18, 2012.

Universidad del Desarollo (UDD) Dental School.

• Meet the Chilean dental students group.
• Tour of the dental school.

Stay at Pingueral. Bungalows.

Day 4

Sunday, February 19, 2012.

Travel to the community of Curarrehue.  About 5 hours van drive to the community in which we will do our outreach work.

Stay Curarrehue.

Day 5

Monday, February 20, 2012.

Breakfast 7:45 am

Dentistry from 9 am – 4 pm:  treatment, education, prevention

Tuesday, February 21, 2012.

Breakfast 7:45 am

Dentistry from 9 am – 4 pm:  treatment, education, prevention

Dinner typical Mapuche food.

Final day with students and faculty from UDD

Van ride to Pucon.

Ecological activities are based in trekking National Park Huerquehue.  This trek will be with a wildlife/ecology guide, and will offer beautiful scenery, birding, and other ecological activities.  Lunch is after the trek in the national park.

Dinner in Pucon.

Day 11

Sunday, February 26, 2012

Breakfast in the Lodge.

Various activities are available for this day, including climbing the volcano, rafting, trekking , half ironman triathlon (ironman 70.3), visiting Valdivia and Pucon, or just walking the area while enjoying the splendid lakes and mountains and watching for birds and other wildlife you haven’t seen or photographed yet.
